Jubilee, who’s much more social then he is, attempts to talk to him, but he’s super awkward. He walks into her stepmom’s comic shop (Verona Comics) one day while he’s out skateboarding. Jubilee dubs him “Bats” and pretty soon she finds herself falling for him after texting him so much. They do exchange numbers, to keep in contact after Batman moves back west. She doesn’t catch his real name, and she doesn’t see what the top half of his face looks like. At the prom, Jubilee meets “Office Batman” (that’s Jayla’s name for him). Verona Comics opens with Jubilee and her best friend Jayla getting ready to go to a Comic-Con prom. Therefore, since I have somehow forgotten half the last names in the book, I’ll do a bit of a more traditional review instead of my usual set-up. (The book, by the way, is Verona Comics by Jennifer Dugan). Unfortunately, I returned this book before I thought about a review, which was a huge mistake because it’s a great book.
